Opticians
We are proud to be able to say that each of our opticians is certified by the American Board of Opticianry. This certification means that our opticians have undergone extensive training and passed rigorous examinations. They also have to maintain their certification through continuing education courses in which they continually learn about the latest products and information about the optical industry.
 Alan Cavener
Alan is a member of our Optical Team and is Certified by the American Board of Opticianry. He joined the 1st Eye Care family in February 2004. He has spent the last 12 years in the optical industry and brings many years of optical and customer service experience to our practice.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Susan, attending NASCAR events, and going to Cowboys games with his 7 year old son, Ryan. |
 Jennifer Bell
Jennifer is excited to be the newest member to our Optical Team, joining First Eye Care in July 2007. She has over 20 years experience as both a manager and optician in the Dallas area. She is a registered Optician with the State of Texas and her goal is to assist each patient with his or her specific needs.
Outside the office, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She likes to travel and indulges her creative side by making jewelry. |
 Judy Kruse
Judy is a member of our Optical Team. She has been certified by the American Board of Opticianry since 1982 and joined 1st Eye Care in 1984. She has been privileged to watch her patients grow up and now is able to help many of their children and grandchildren with their glasses.
In her free time, she enjoys the adventures of camping, motorcycle riding with her husband of over 20 years, and providing support for his band, Rhythm Shakers. |
 Joel Doering
Joel is a member of our Optical Team and is Certified by the American Board of Opticianry. He has 16 years of experience in the optical industry, with his first 5 years spent in the military as an optician. A year after leaving the service he joined 1st Eye Care, where he has spent the last 11 years.
When not at work he enjoys, fishing, watching sports, and spending time with his wife and two children. |
 Richard Van Norman
Richard is a member of our Optical Team. He started his ophthalmic career after attending college at Arkansas Tech University. He gained experience as an optician in the Navy before furthering his career with various ophthalmology practices in St. Louis and Dallas in the 70's and early 80's.
He has had several years in management, both in ophthalmology and optometry practices in several states before joining 1st Eye Care in 1983. He is currently certified by the American Board of Opticianry and is a registered Optician with the State of Texas. His goal is to serve each patient's needs and to continue to serve the community.
 Keith Robinson
Keith is a member of our Optical Team and is Certified by the American Board of Opticianry. He spent 6 years as an optician in the military before joining us 10 years ago.
