Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS)
It is now very common to spend significant time in front of a computer during the day. Many people experience CVS symptoms, including blurred vision, headaches, eyestrain, increased sensitivity to glare, and dry eyes. Your 1st Eye Care Plano Optometrist has solutions for your discomfort!
- Blink often to rewet dry eyes, and ask about artificial tears
- Give your eyes visual breaks every 20-30 minutes, allowing them to look at distance objects
- Reduce glare and reflections by proper positioning of your monitor with respect to windows and lighting
- Consider anti-glare coatings on glasses and circular polarizing glare screens
- Position yourself 18-24" away from the monitor with its top at or slightly below eye level
- Consider computer glasses that are custom-made for your workstation situation.
